NIB Coalition Runs Pittsburgh Post-Gazette Ad: How Many Bridges Will Collapse Before Congress Wakes Up?

Feb 05, 2022

Starting on Friday, February 4, the NIB Coalition ran a front page ad in the digital version of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette, pointing to the National Infrastructure Bank and H.R.3339 as the solution to the funding crisis, resulting in more and more infrastructure breakdowns in the US. The ad will run for five days along with a similar ad in the print edition on Sunday, February 6.

The ad states in part: "The recent collapse of Pittsburgh’s Fern Hollow Bridge is yet another reminder of the decrepit state of our nation’s infrastructure, as if we needed another warning. The silver lining is that nobody died, but they certainly could have. The good news is that help is on the way."

Included in the ad are four supporting videos, three of which are from Pennsylvania state elected officials, plus an overview video by Alphecca Muttardy, chief economist for the NIB Coalition. These videos are from Erika Strassburger, Pittsburgh City Councilwoman,

Pa. State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, and Pa. State Rep. Mary Jo Daley.
