New NIB Coalition Video: Breaking the Logjam on Infrastructure Funding

This new video presents a small group discussion on the proposed national infrastructure bank as outlined in HR 3339, and its relationship to the current proposals for infrastructure repair and investment.


Alphecca Muttardy, a macroeconomist with decades of experience at the International Monetary Fund, describes the ways in which the Biden plan and the Republican counter-proposal fall short of addressing the nation’s infrastructure needs, and how the NIB can take up the slack. 


Stephen Hubbard, 29 years with the Metropolitan Water District of Southern California, expands on Alphecca’s presentation with a deeper look at the costs of “deferred maintenance”, as well as a look at what’s happening with rural America.  If we don’t adopt the NIB, rural America faces a bleak future withering away for lack of investment into water, power, health care, and transportation  This underscores why we a need  multi-trillion dollar infrastructure bank.


Stan Forczek, retired after decades with Amtrak, ends the video with a summary of the case for adopting the National Infrastructure Bank.
