Snohomish County Treasurer 2020-Present


The County Treasurer holds a key position of public trust in the financial affairs of the local

government. Acting as the bank for the County, school districts, fire districts, special

purpose districts, and other local government units, the Treasurer's Office receipts

disburses, invests, and accounts for each of them these entities. Also, the Treasurer is

charged with collecting various taxes that benefit a wide range of governmental functions.

Prime Sponsor of E-Waste bill requiring

manufacturer responsibility.  

Prime Sponsor of bio-fuels bill setting a national example.  

Vice-Chair on the "Select Committee of Economic Development," distributing 150 million dollars over two years.


Two Term Mayor 1990-1997

City of Mukilteo, WA: Chief Executive Officer of 13,000 residents, 15 million dollar budget,

and 115 full-time employees. Acquired the Mukilteo Lighthouse from the U.S. Coast Guard, doubled the size of the city through annexation, transition the fire department from allvolunteer to all full time including constructing and equipping two new fire stations, transition the police department from four officers to twenty commissioned officers and acquired the Washington accreditation for the department.
